Zhang Zihan produced a very interesting and difficult project based on a smart guiding device for navigating hospitals. She was nominated for the award for her excellent additional work which included the following: voice recordings, learning additional coding skills, and creating her own code for the device. Her performance in the 1-to-1 sessions was exceptional too, as she answered questions and showed improvement across the programme.
Jiang Yixun’s project was based on his team competition in robotics, where he competes against Chinese and international teams. He wanted to improve his robot’s positioning and movements in the contest. From the start, Jiang was really dedicated to his project and showed a high level of understanding of robotics. He continually impressed his tutor and delivered a very interesting presentation.
Gao Zhengsiyu’s had a wonderful project of using visual impact to enhance stimuli short-term memory. She conquered many challenges and issues within the project with every problem, she actively found a solution and spent time considering the other options. She improved her level of work in each tutorial and even conducted lots of her own research.
Chen Weiyi wanted to focus on a very interesting sport called floorball and creating a VAR system or way of checking for fouls using AI. Her project was very complex with the different heights of players, skill levels, and the pace of the game. She conducted her own research with lots of photo evidence and different techniques used to find a suitable system. She had to understand the sport, coding, and other aspects to her project. She developed new ideas and coped with setbacks or issues very quickly. She showed real scientific skill during the programme.
Li Siyuan wanted to focus on life in space, which is a pressing topic and a very interesting one. She conducted lots of research and gained valuable information regarding this including what was needed to sustain life, what planets or moons had the right environment to sustain life and how it could be possible. Much of her work was focusing on theoretical or cutting-edge science which can be complex and difficult to understand, she handled this information and research with a great deal of maturity and scientific skill.
Zhu Qinwen wanted to create a smart bracelet that could monitor heart rates and people’s depression. This was a very interesting project as there was not a lot of research regarding this. She successfully made a prototype for the bracelet and conducted her own research on it. She was never put off by the lack of research or challenges around the subject. She just needs to continue developing it and the project will be a great success
